Recovery
Recovery is typically straightforward.
- First few days Swelling and bruising under the chin, tightness or pressure sensation, and mild discomfort (usually controlled with pain medication). You’ll likely wear a compression chin strap/garment.
- About one week Swelling starts to stabilize, bruising is fading. Many people return to work in 3–7 days, depending on job.
- Two to three weeks Jawline starts to look more defined, numbness or “firmness” under the chin is common. Most patients will be able to do light exercises again.
- One to three months Most swelling is gone, skin continues to contract and adjust, final contour becomes clearer, and any residual firmness gradually softens.
