Breast Augmentation
You want bigger, or you want your shape back, or both. Either way, the implant is the easy part. Getting it right means picking the right implant and being honest about whether you need a lift too.
Choosing the Right Implant
We use two brands. Natrelle (Allergan), the most widely used implant in the country. And Motiva, newer here but already the brand patients ask for by name, something almost unheard of in this industry. Both are FDA-approved. The right one for you comes down to your anatomy and your goals more than the brand name. Nearly everyone chooses silicone today. Saline is rare.
Common Concerns
Common concerns include:
Wanting more volume or a fuller shape
Breasts that have dropped or lost shape since pregnancy or breastfeeding
Uncertainty between silicone and saline
Wanting a result that matches your anatomy, not just a brand name
Concern about long-term risks like capsular contracture
What The Procedure Does
Breast augmentation adds volume with an FDA-approved implant, matched to your anatomy and goals.
The treatment can:
- Adds volume and improves shape using a silicone or saline implant
- Corrects sagging with a lift in the same surgery when needed
- Matches implant choice, Natrelle or Motiva, to your anatomy rather than brand preference
- Improves overall proportion and symmetry

Recovery
Light work is possible in about a week. Full clearance for the gym and any strenuous activity comes around six weeks.
- First few days Soreness, swelling, tightness, and pressure in the chest. Pain medication, rest, and wearing a surgical support bra help make recovery more comfortable. Most patients are able to walk around the same day, but they will need someone to drive them home and assist them during the first 24 hours.
- About one week Swelling and bruising are usually at their peak. Many patients return to desk work within several days, although it is important to avoid heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, and raising the arms too much. Sleeping on your back with the upper body slightly elevated can help reduce swelling and improve comfort.
- Two to three weeks Most discomfort begins to improve significantly. Everyday activities become easier, although the breasts may still feel firm or sit higher on the chest than expected. This is a normal part of the healing process. Light physical activity is often allowed after a couple of weeks, but intense workouts and chest exercises should still be avoided.
- Two to three months Most patients feel much more like themselves and are cleared to return to full activity and exercise. Swelling continues to decrease, and the implants gradually settle into a softer, more natural position.
What Results to Expect
- Visible results from day one
- Implants aren’t lifetime devices, the manufacturers say so themselves
- Your results continue to be affected by aging, pregnancy, and weight changes, the same as they would without an implant
Who This Is For
This is worth discussing if you want more volume, want your pre-pregnancy shape back, or both. Your consultation addresses directly whether you need a lift alongside your implant. Skip that step when it’s needed and you’re paying for surgery that won’t give you what you actually wanted.
