BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift)
Most of a BBL isn’t the fat transfer. It’s the liposuction that shapes everything around it, roughly 80% of the work. The transfer is what adds the curve, using fat you already have.
Why Ultrasound Guidance Matters
BBL has a real safety record problem nationally, and it's not a mystery why. Deaths happen when fat gets injected into the buttock muscle instead of above it. Florida made ultrasound guidance mandatory because of it. New York only recommends it. We use it on every single case anyway, watching in real time to keep every injection above the muscle. It also means tighter control over how the final shape actually looks.
A Body-Shaping Procedure First
The liposuction does the heavy lifting: waist, hips, and the surrounding contour.
The fat transfer finishes it, using your own fat, harvested and placed. No implant, no allergic reaction risk.
What The Procedure Does
A BBL combines liposuction with a fat transfer, using your own fat with no implant.
Depending on your needs, treatment may:
- Reshape the waist, hips, and surrounding contour through liposuction, roughly 80% of the procedure
- Add curve and volume through fat transfer
- Use ultrasound guidance on every case to keep injections above the muscle
- Avoid implant-related risks by using only your own fat

Your Consultation
We evaluate:
- Areas for liposuction and contouring
- Available fat for transfer
- Your goals for shape and curve
You will receive:
- A personalized liposuction and transfer plan
- An explanation of the ultrasound-guidance safety protocol used on every case
- Honest guidance on achieving your goals safely
Recovery
- First week. Off from work entirely.
- Weeks one to two. No sitting directly on the buttocks or applying pressure to the area.
- Weeks two to six. Sitting is permitted using a BBL pillow to keep pressure off the treated area.
- Six weeks. A compression garment and lymphatic massages continue over the liposuction areas throughout this period — the liposuction shapes the surrounding contour and provides the fat used in the transfer, so its own recovery matters as much as the buttocks themselves.
- First few days Swelling and soreness are expected. Sitting directly on the treated area is limited to protect fat transfer.
- About one week Bruising and swelling begin to improve. Movement increases gradually with continued precautions.
- Two to three weeks Most patients return to light daily activity while still avoiding pressure on the area.
- Four to six weeks Swelling continues to resolve, and the transferred fat begins to stabilize into its final shape.
What results to expect
Results are long-lasting, since the transfer uses your own fat rather than an implant or filler.
Who This Is For
This is worth discussing if you want curve and lift using your own fat rather than an implant, and safety protocol matters to you: we use ultrasound guidance on every single case, beyond what New York currently requires.
